CAW: Creative Agency Showcase
Creative agencies spend enormous effort crafting work for their clients. Ironically, the platforms they use to showcase that work rarely receive the same level of care. The CAW project set out to change that — building a showcase platform worthy of the work it displayed.
The Gap
Portfolio websites for creative agencies tend to follow predictable patterns: thumbnail grid, project page, back to grid. The format is functional but fails to communicate the strategic thinking, creative process, or cultural impact that makes agency work interesting.
A Better Format
The showcase was designed as an editorial experience. Each project was presented as a story rather than a case study — with narrative structure, contextual imagery, and enough space for the work to breathe. The reading experience drew from magazine design, with typography and layout that matched the sophistication of the creative work being presented.
Technical Approach
Performance was paramount. Large images and rich media needed to load quickly without compromising quality. Progressive loading, responsive images, and careful optimisation ensured that the showcase felt smooth across devices and connection speeds.
Outcome
The platform demonstrated that how you present work matters almost as much as the work itself. Agencies using the showcase reported improved client enquiry quality — prospects who arrived through the platform had a better understanding of the agency’s capabilities and approach.
