There’s something uniquely British about the first proper sunny day of summer. The instant migration to pub gardens, the optimistic sunburn, the Instagram stories of pints glowing in golden hour light. Pints in the Sun captured that collective moment and turned it into a brand activation.

The Insight

Social media data showed a predictable spike in pub-related content every time the temperature crossed 20 degrees. People were already celebrating sunny drinks — the campaign simply gave them a framework and a community for it.

Execution

The campaign launched with the first warm weekend of the year. A hashtag-driven social campaign invited people to share their pub garden moments. A content hub aggregated the best submissions alongside weather data, creating a real-time map of where Britain was drinking in the sunshine.

Pop-up elements in key locations — branded parasols, photo opportunities, unexpected giveaways — gave people in-the-moment reasons to engage with the brand while they were already in the right mood.

Results

The campaign generated strong organic engagement precisely because it aligned with something people were already doing. The brand didn’t try to create a behaviour — it joined an existing one. That authenticity showed in the metrics: high engagement rates, positive sentiment, and strong organic reach without significant paid amplification.
